Showdown
Two companies, one tap — pick the bigger one.
About Showdown stock comparison game
Showdown is a one-tap stock comparison game. Two real public companies appear side by side with their numbers hidden, and you pick the one that is larger on the chosen metric — market cap, share price, employees, revenue, net income, or cash. Choose a universe — Mega Caps, the Nasdaq 100, the S&P 500, or a wider set — pick a metric, and play. Practice is free with no sign-up to start.
Because the values stay hidden, Showdown trains what a ranking table cannot: a real feel for which company is actually bigger. Round after round you discover that a higher share price does not mean a bigger company, and that the household name is not always the heavyweight — the foundation of market-cap literacy.
Builds your Investor Skill Profile
Challenge mode is adaptive — it rates your Fundamentals Instinct (gauging size, value, and profitability across the numbers).

Set the matchup
Choose a universe to set the company pool — Mega Caps, the Nasdaq 100, the S&P 500, or a broader extended set — and pick the metric you want to sharpen: market cap, share price, employees, revenue, net income, or cash. Every pair in the round is drawn from that pool.
Spot the bigger company — no peeking
Both company names appear on screen with their metric value hidden. Tap the one you believe is larger on the chosen metric. The real values are revealed the instant you pick, so you get feedback on every call you make.
Practice to learn, Challenge to compete
Practice runs 10 rounds with no penalty for wrong answers — ideal for building intuition. Challenge is sudden-death: one wrong pick ends the run, and a strong streak is posted to the public leaderboard for the chosen metric.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Showdown free to play?
- Yes. Showdown is free to play on Ticker League, and Practice is available without a mandatory sign-up. If you want your Challenge streak to appear on the public leaderboard, you may be prompted to create a free account.
- How does scoring work in Showdown?
- In Practice, your score is the number of correct picks out of 10 rounds — no penalty for wrong answers. In Challenge, the game is sudden-death: your score is the length of your correct streak before the first miss. High streaks post to the leaderboard, so Challenge rewards consistency over a single lucky round.
- How is Showdown different from Higher or Lower?
- Showdown always hides both values and asks you to spot the bigger company in a single tap. Higher or Lower shows you one value up front and asks whether the second name is higher or lower — a two-step estimation task that rewards numerical memory more than relative ranking. Showdown is the faster, more approachable entry point; Higher or Lower is the deeper drill.
