How to play

  1. Choose a stock universe (league)

Start by choosing a league—Mega Cap, the S&P 500, the Nasdaq 100, or a broader set—so every question is aligned with the companies and difficulty you want to practice on.

  2. Match companies to their ticker symbols

You’ll see a real company; pick the correct U.S. ticker from four multiple-choice options, or use Type-in mode to type the one- to four-letter symbol from memory. Each round trains recall of tickers, not the company’s full legal name.

  3. Play through modes and run up your score

A standard run is 10 questions. Switch to Speed Round for a clock, Sudden Death when one miss ends the run, or Full Index for a harder sweep across the list. In Challenge, your result can count toward the public leaderboard.

Frequently asked questions

What is Ticker Match?

Ticker Match is a free online stock ticker quiz. You connect company names to their one- to four-letter U.S. ticker symbols so you can drill symbols for real Mega Cap, S&P 500, and Nasdaq 100 names—more useful than rote list memorization when you read filings or place trades.

Is Ticker Match free to play?

Yes. Ticker Match and the rest of Ticker League are free. Practice is available without a sign-up. If you use Challenge and public leaderboards, the product may ask for a free account to record a score, but the games themselves are not paywalled.

Which companies and tickers are included?

Roster depends on the league. Mega Cap focuses on the largest U.S.-listed names; the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 leagues line up with those well-known index universes, so you can align practice with the stocks you follow most often.

How is the score or leaderboard decided?

Correct answers add points. Timed and survival rules (Speed, Sudden Death) change the risk. In Challenge, a solid run is posted to the leaderboard; Practice is for learning without the pressure to rank.
